Opened in the spring of 2010, Lynn Valley Bikes is owned and operated by Ken Maude and Rick Loader – North Shore locals who are well known in the biking community. They can help you find the right bike, equipment and gear for your needs, whether for commuting, riding with your kids, mountain biking, road biking, competition, or downhilling. They’ve created a relaxed, family-friendly store that carries products the owners believe in and use themselves.

Rick got his first job as a bike mechanic at Local Motion in Abbotsford, BC in 1983. He is now a certified mountain bike instructor and guide, has toured nine countries by bike, and has competed in the BC Bike Race twice among other road, cross-country, and downhill events. He just plain knows a lot about bikes, and with a B.A. in Human Kinetics, Secondary Education (and English Literature), he is good at sharing it. Ken Maude

Ken was one of the original North Shore Freeriders. He started in 1985 as a mechanic at Breakaway Bikes in West Vancouver. He’s appeared in several mountain bike films, including North Shore Extreme 1–6, Kranked 2–3, and Ride Guide TV, and formerly competed professionally in road, downhill and cross-country racing. He has also worked professionally in the cycling industry as the marketing director for Race Face and a sales representative. He joined with Rick to open Lynn Valley Bikes as a way to turn a lifetime of biking into a business.
